Ralf Rangnick, Manchester United's interim manager, has criticised his players, especially Bruno Fernandes, for their FA Cup shock defeat to Middlesbrough on Friday.
Rangnick blamed his team for their goal-scoring ineptness against Middlesbrough at Old Trafford.
Man United was knocked out of the FA Cup on penalties after losing 8-7 against Middlesbrough.
After the match ended in a 1-1 draw, Anthony Elanga missed the final penalty in their defeat to Middlesbrough.
"We gave up too many chances, particularly in the first half," Rangnick stated after the game in his post-match press conference.
"After 45 minutes, we should and could have easily been up 3-0, and even in the second half, we squandered some wonderful opportunities, even after they were created."
“But Bruno’s chance was almost like a penalty as well, so we’ve to blame ourselves for giving away and wasting too many opportunities in the game.
“And, in the end, if it is on penalties, it’s also a question of luck and in the end, we lost that game and we’re all incredibly disappointed.”
